En 1615 aparecería la segunda parte del Quijote de Cervantes con el título de El ingenioso caballero don Quijote de la Mancha.Don Quijote fue la primera obra genuinamente desmitificadora de la tradición caballeresca y cortés, por el tratamiento burlesco que da a la misma. Ésta sería realizada con las votaciones de 100 grandes escritores de 54 nacionalidades distintas, apareciendo las obras en estricto orden alfabético, para que no prevaleciese ninguna obra sobre otra, pero por unanimidad se hizo una excepción con "Don Quixote" que encabezó la lista siendo citada como "el mejor trabajo literario jamás escrito".
