The right to privacy isn't protected in the digital world as it is in many parts of the physical world. Each time someone uses a search engine or enters information on an online site, their data may be collected and used in many ways. Sometimes the information is used to provide more accurate search results. Other times, it's used to promote and sell goods aimed at the user. Online scam artists and criminals also steal data that is not protected, or hack into accounts to steal data. Computer users of all ages need to know how they can better protect themselves and their personal information online. This guide will help them understand controversial issues and provide suggestions about better, safer Internet habits.
