Pete warns Hank that a stray dog has invaded the ranch and is lurking inside the machine shed. Naturally, Hank goes to investigate, and sure enough, he finds the Phantom Dog--in an old mirror stored in the machine shed. But then Drover looks into the same mirror and sees a "Handsome Prince." Holy smokes, it appears that two dogs have invaded the ranch!

It's Christmastime on the ranch. At four o'clock in the morning, Slim Chance is jolted out of bed by the ringing of the phone. It's the sheriff's department. Slim has a hundred head of yearlings out on the highway.Loper and Sally May are gone, and Slim needs help. He calls the only human being on earth who might consider it a lark to be moving cattle in a snow storm: Miss Viola. Together, they drive the cattle five miles back to the ranch. Slim comes down with pneumonia and Viola has to drive him to the hospital. On the way, he awakens from a stupor and mumbles, "You know, Viola, me and you ought to get married sometime". Someone or something has been robbing eggs from the chicken house. Hank stakes out the chicken house and to his surprise sees a fiddle-playing fox hop in with the hens, play them some hot fiddle music, and then accept several fresh eggs as his payment! Instead of arresting Frankie the Fox, Hank joins forces with him to try and win the heart of Beulah the Collie.

Quail season has started. Plato the Birddog is impressing the lovely Miss Beulah with his pointing ability, when Hank tries to impress her with some bird work of his own. He chases a flock of noisy, wild turkeys away from the house. However, Sally May had been watching the turkeys. Hank's in deep trouble. Beulah gets kidnapped by Scraunch. Can Hank save her?
