She tries her best and is able to do everything any other cat can do. Baby Diddles teaches her sisters that nothing will stop her from being everything she can be. A picture book for children, Baby Diddles teaches us that just because someone looks different, or has a disability, that person ─or cat─ can do anything they set their mind to.

  • Bigaloo the Singing Elephant

    William Verrall

The book is about a young elephant who loves to sing. It is written in such a way that the reader can 'put-on' the voices of the characters and can pretend to be frightened, happy, worried or exultant. Through such reading a love of stories can be developed in children and the vital foundation stones of their education can be laid. The book is designed to be 'scrumptious'. Reading should be fun!
  • Immy Gives Scruffy a Makeover

    Diana Duncan

Paperback (Partridge Singapore, Aug. 6, 2018)
Immy loves thinking about make-up and fashion so much that one day as she gazes at herself in the mirror, Dad reminds her that it is what is inside that is important. Mum suggests that it would be good for Immy to learn to care for a dog who needs a loving home, so one fine morning Dad and Immy set out to adopt one from the SPCA. Of course Dad expects her to choose the cutest dog she can find, but after she looks at a beautiful fluffy poodle, an elegant, sleek greyhound and a pretty pert sausage dog, he is pleasantly surprised when she declares that she loves an ugly old dog who looks just like a bear. Immy can tell that he is lonely and needs lots of loving care. And maybe Scruffy will enjoy all the attention she lavishes on him, as she sets out to make him the most pampered dog on the street!

  • A Jigit without his Horse

    The Jigit The Jigit

    Paperback (PartridgeSingapore, Nov. 21, 2013)
I am excited and in fact feel provoked, as the book has manifested, that the author had successfully gone through the mysterious "cultural immersion" Upon leading a full life in Uzbekistan and accomplished the mastery of both the Russian and Uzbek languages he was well disposed to manoeuvre the heritage tunnel spinning his head with the multitude of values unbeknown to him. His exploits through the rustic country, rugged mountains and infinite horizon of forest would match with deeper emotion in circumventing the cultural network, passing through the cal de sac of unexplained attributes and reaching the thoughts of real life assurance that have wired him to be "one of us" The subtle and essential values inculcated drove his adrenalin towards the congregation of behaviour, thereby providing an immense source of motivation to be part of the living culture of the country. This is thus a classic case in the study of any melting pot from any continent, whereby mere coexistence would miss out the rich and deep cultural experience. -Dr Yahya Mat Hassan, an academia and a pollster.

  • Pete Goes to School

    Diana S. Duncan

    Paperback (PartridgeSingapore, Feb. 17, 2017)
Pete Goes to School is a rhyming tale about a young boy, Tom and his Labrador dog Pete. When Tom goes off to boarding school Pete runs away from home and arrives at Tom’s school late at night. The next day the headmaster says that Pete ‘must go’ but Tom’s formidable Mum turns up and persuades him, through a mixture of hard talk and flattery, that if Pete were allowed to stay at the school, not only would he make an excellent ‘In House’ dog but his appointment would also enhance the school’s (and more importantly) the headmaster’s reputation. Of course Mum gets her way and Tom, his school mates and Pete in particular, are very happy. School life is much easier to bear with a school dog to pat and cuddle!

  • When Jack Meets Jill: A Backstory to the Nursery Rhyme

    Anthony Shang

    Paperback (PartridgeSingapore, May 1, 2014)
Everybody knows that Jack and Jill went up the hill together, but have you ever wondered how Jack and Jill came to meet in the first place? When Jack Meets Jill presents a prequel to the nursery rhyme that many of us grew up with. Jack and Jill live in opposite neighbourhoods in their hometown of Happyville, the happiest place in the world. Their backgrounds are very different. Jack, a skinny, quiet eleven-year-old, is the son of a penniless farm labourer. Jill, one year younger, is a spirited girl who feels like she is a captive in the home of her father, the mayor, whose greed and cruelty are well known. When the two of them meet, their lives change forever. Their friendship grows, and the bond between them strengthens. It isn't long, however, before that friendship is put to the test. When Jack Meets Jill conveys a clear message to young readers that the feeling of kinship knows no bounds. Through empathy and devotion, you can develop the strength to seek out right from wrong.
