Paperback (CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, April 27, 2018)
King Henry VIII covers the period of Henry's reign from shortly after he becomes king to the birth of Elizabeth, who would one day become queen and for whom the play was written. The firing of a cannon during the very first performance of this play caused a fire that burnt the Globe theater to the ground.

    William Shakespeare

Paperback (CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, Nov. 12, 2012)
Widely regarded as the greatest play right in the English language William Shakespeare wrote 38 plays and 154 sonnets. With works such as Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, A Mid Summer's Night Dream and The Taming of the Shrew his work has made a lasting impression on western culture. For the last four hundred years Shakespeare's plays have been the most preformed and studied of any playwright. From the words he invented, to the grammar he developed and phrases that linger in our vernacular the "Bard of Avon" has influenced much of the development of the English language.

  • Henry VIII

    William Shakespeare

Hardcover (Throne Classics, July 9, 2019)
Henry VIII is a collaborative history play, written by William Shakespeare and John Fletcher, based on the life of King Henry VIII of England. An alternative title, All Is True, is recorded in contemporary documents, the title Henry VIII not appearing until the play's publication in the First Folio of 1623. Stylistic evidence indicates that individual scenes were written by either Shakespeare or his collaborator and successor, John Fletcher. It is also somewhat characteristic of the late romances in its structure. It is noted for having more stage directions than any of Shakespeare's other plays.During a performance of Henry VIII at the Globe Theatre in 1613, a cannon shot employed for special effects ignited the theatre's thatched roof (and the beams), burning the original Globe building to the ground.
