    Robert M. Yoder

Paperback (Leopold Classic Library, June 13, 2015)
Leopold Classic Library is delighted to publish this classic book as part of our extensive collection. As part of our on-going commitment to delivering value to the reader, we have also provided you with a link to a website, where you may download a digital version of this work for free. Many of the books in our collection have been out of print for decades, and therefore have not been accessible to the general public. Whilst the books in this collection have not been hand curated, an aim of our publishing program is to facilitate rapid access to this vast reservoir of literature. As a result of this book being first published many decades ago, it may have occasional imperfections. These imperfections may include poor picture quality, blurred or missing text. While some of these imperfections may have appeared in the original work, others may have resulted from the scanning process that has been applied. However, our view is that this is a significant literary work, which deserves to be brought back into print after many decades. While some publishers have applied optical character recognition (OCR), this approach has its own drawbacks, which include formatting errors, misspelt words, or the presence of inappropriate characters. Our philosophy has been guided by a desire to provide the reader with an experience that is as close as possible to ownership of the original work. We hope that you will enjoy this wonderful classic book, and that the occasional imperfection that it might contain will not detract from the experience.

Excerpt from There's No Front Like HomeFor many, the hollowest laugh of the civilian side of this war came the day it was announced that we were Frozen. From that moment hence, it became illegal for anyone to lure us from our job by the offer of a better one, nor could our loving employers give us a raise. To pay more money was no longer merely contrary to the boss's every instinct, it was now contrary to federal law.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. William goes in search of a new home, but soon discovers that it’s not easy to find somewhere that’s just right for him and his book: the ducklings’ lake is too wet; Little Mouse’s mousehole is too small; Little Wolf’s cave is too dark; and although Owl loves reading, his nest is much too high. As night draws in, there’s only one place he wants to be. This funny and touching story about where you really feel at home is a great addition to the Storytime series from a talented Croatian illustrator.

  • There's No Base Like Home

    H. C. (Harry Charles) Witwer

Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy.

  • There's No Base Like Home

    H. C. Witwer

Paperback (Forgotten Books, Sept. 27, 2015)
Excerpt from There's No Base Like HomeDear Joe:Well, Joe, we have got off to a start as you have prob'ly no doubt seen by the papers and win the first game of the season by trimmin' the Robins with the ridiculous ease. Even if the thing did go sixteen innin's and the score was only 1 to 0 and we got that run in the last frame by way of a wild pitch, that's the same as if we win by 749 to 0, be cause we win it and that's all that counts, hey, Joe? Them guys got eleven hits off of me and you can see I must of got terrible support or that never would of happened. If it wasn't for my almost unhuman control in the pinches and makin' the batter act like a armless wonder when they was a runner on the base, we would prob'ly of lost the game, because whenever they was a ball hit to the infield them birds all acted like it was against the law to touch it and it made the game more interestin' to have the bases loaded.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
