The element of action and adventure present in all the narrative work of RL Stevenson (1850-1894) occupies a central place in THE DYNAMITER, a story written by the author in collaboration with his wife, Fanny Van de Grift (to whom the episodes entitled "The Angel of Destruction" and "The Cuban Beauty"). The adventures of the protagonists, three young men of good family who, deprived of means of fortune, decide to participate in any adventure that chance can offer them, present us with a populous London ("the Baghdad of the West") conducive to adventure. and the center of anarchist activity, the mysterious Utah of the Mormons and a Caribbean island where voodoo coexists with piracy.
