Front pastedown creased in pasting by publisher. Bound in gilt lettered red cloth stained to lower board and rubbed to spine, housed in matt green dustwrapper featuring the ring and eye of Sauron, 2 closed tears, 1 to tail of lower hinge 4.5cm, another to lower corner. Top edge red no bleeding. The volume in hand forms the first part of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and follows The Hobbit.
