  • A Giraffe's Tale

    Celia Anderson

    (, Oct. 15, 2014)
Joey is a 4 months old giraffe calf. He is his mother’s first child and spoilt rotten. He will not pick his own leaves off a tree or play with the other calves. His mother threatens that his neck will shrink if he does not use it. He compares himself by mistake with the much larger 6-month-old cousin. He frantically tries to stop his neck from shrinking in various hilarious ways. For example, sticking his head through a forked branch and having his cousins pull on his tail or trying to catch his tail with his tongue to stretch the neck. When his mother sees him reaching into a tall tree to pluck some leaves, she tells him that his neck will never shrink. Joey is annoyed but very relieved at the news.
  • Giraffey Tales

    Lauren Abby

    (Independently published, March 24, 2019)
Gigi the giraffe lives in Africa and has a REALLY LONG neck. Her neck is FAR LONGER than any of the other animals, but she doesn’t care about this and actually embraces being different to the others. Thanks to her REALLY LONG neck, Gigi the giraffe can reach leaves and shoots that are REALLY high up – something that the other animals simply cannot do because they aren’t quite big enough and don’t have a REALLY LONG neck like Gigi the giraffe does. 'Giraffey Tales' by Lauren Abby is suitable for children aged 2-5 years.
