  • SPOOK:

    Butch Martin

    Paperback (iUniverse, April 30, 2009)
My friend, Butch Martin, is a cowboy poet, and also a talented singer of cowboy songs. He has helped to keep the cowboy poetry tradition alive by reciting many of the classic cowboy poems, such as Henry Hurbert Knibbs' Where The Ponies Come To Drink and The Shallows of the Ford. One of my all time favorite poems is Butch's Pipers, which speaks of a promise given and the ghostly keeping of that promise. Obviously, it's with these aspects of Butch's western writings that I am most familiar. However, with the book you now hold in your hand, Butch plunges into yet another field of endeavor. SPOOK, The Adventures of a Wyoming Ranch Cat is his first time out with a storybook for children. You'll enjoy it with the youngsters you know. Try it!! You'll like it yourself.
