  • Dougie and His Friends

    Albert Cuevas

    eBook (AuthorHouse, Feb. 20, 2017)
This is the story about a raccoon name Dougie and his friends. Dougie was sort of their leader. He watched over all of them. Through their struggles and problems they each encountered. Though none of them wanted to admit that they really needed help, Dougie always knew when something was troubling them. There was Sir Paul the seagull, Rosella the goose, Isolde the sparrow, Mr. King the crane, and Bobby the ferret. You see, they all met while wondering around the baseball field. They were all alone in this world because of their different characteristics. Bobby had the emotional side to him. He couldnt find the heart to hunt for other little creatures as his brothers did. Sir Paul had too much confidence. He was always getting himself into trouble because of his prideful ways. Rosella had lost her mother to a bunch of human hunters. In the result, she had a hard time trusting anyone. Isolde was a less smaller for her size and was always being picked on, Mr. King. He had a limp when he walked. Something he was always trying to hide from others. And then there was Dougie. Now Dougie was known as a dreamer. He had a vision about seeing the future. How everyone one day will live in paradise all together, happy, joyous and free.

    Linda H Rossi

eBook (Outskirts Press, Inc., June 3, 2020)
This is a warm and fanciful story of a little boy’s very vivid imagination and how a collection of Rainbow animal friends help him overcome his loneliness. Noah is an active boy, who loves animals, but is lonely with no brothers or sisters. His teddy bear, Polo, is his constant companion. He loves going to his Uncle Robert’s veterinary office, but one day he doesn’t go because he is sick. That night Noah’s illness, his fever and imagination all work together to bring a beautiful rainbow and mischievous animal friends to life right before his eyes! With the help of a magical “Special Key” and keyhole visible only to the boy, the visions are brilliant and real as life.A big red Unicorn leads the pack of animals through all their paces and fun antics as the story unfolds. Noah’s mom doesn’t believe the animals visited him, yet how do you explain the silver stars and red hearts that mysteriously appeared in his bedroom?Noah’s rainbow animal friends appear to him more than once throughout the story and help him overcome his loneliness, help make him feel better and help solve his “Show and Tell” problem. Each of the animals is represented by the colors of the rainbow. There is a red Unicorn, orange Main Coon Cat, yellow Labrador dog, green spider monkey, blue parrot dinosaur, indigo lamb and violet pony.Children will be delighted to learn that the parrot dinosaur in the story is a real life dinosaur and is the smallest dinosaur discovered to date. It looks more like a bird, than a typical dinosaur!Noah’s colorful imagination and love of animals come to light in this whimsical story. We are left wondering if it is really Noah’s brilliant imagination or if his rainbow animal friends are real and if they will come back to share more adventures with Noah.
