Furious, Lera publicly denounces Ranon, and in a fantastic tit-for-tat magical duel banishes him to another place of existence using his own magic. Suffering the pangs of grief, anger love and loneliness, she welcomes Granny Rellavir Dragon's comforting. Lera and Zad realign, and promise to be worthy forevermore of each other's trust. Eventually, she overcomes the other dragons' mistrust and is granted a place on the council to decide the fate of the artifacts.
