Joshua and the Spider is a story of parental love, obedience, true friendship, and heroism. Joshua is a young caterpillar that is certain his butterfly parents do not understand what it's like to be a caterpillar. Consequently, he ignores his parents' warnings and goes back to eat from the Sugar-Pie flowers one more time, disregarding the threat of the banana spiders who live amongst these flowers and love to eat caterpillars! Joshua and his sidekick Eric Cricket find themselves in a seemingly hopeless situation until Captain Sting with his Yellow Jacket Squadron and Constable Ant get involved. In the end Joshua and Eric learn powerful lessons about parental love, obedience, true friendship, and heroism. Joshua and the Spider is an educational opportunity for any child, as the book is riddled with words that are typically outside the average child's vocabulary. A simple glossary in the back will help their understanding. Intended for boys, age 6-10.
