  • In the Beginning

    Patricia White, Cari Jones

    Paperback (Hill-Park Publishing, Dec. 1, 2015)
In The Beginning provides a simple explanation for why geological science and the Bible story of creation not only do not conflict but actually support each other. It is intended to provide children with an introduction to the concept that science and religion are not mutually exclusive. The book reviews the Genesis story of creation from the Bible relative to the eons and eras in the geological time frame. The story is told along side beautiful illustrations by Cari Jones to keep the reader's attention. The book begins with the scripture from the New Testament book of Second Peter 3:8, which states that "with God one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years is as one day". It then discusses each of the six days of creation and the eon or era to which each day corresponds. The book ends with a simple but comprehensive chart of the Earth's geologic timeline, which provides additional information on the events that occurred during each "day" of creation. While the book is intended primarily for children, it is a lesson that is equally valuable to adults. The story provides a straightforward counter to the "Biblical literalist" view that the world was created in six "calendar days" and is only 6,000 years old.

Because so many people wanted to find me for so many reasons and would go to any lengths for those reasons. Any lengths at all. In the end, would my life be lost to them, also?Because, despite all the attempts to figure me out, no one had been able to so far. I was a complete mystery. An enigma. language (Twin Sisters IP, LLC., May 4, 2015)
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1 NIVGod made everything in the world. On the first day of creation, God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God separated the light from the darkness. On the second day of creation, God separated the waters above from the waters below and called the open space “sky.” On the third day, God made the land and separated it from the seas. He created beautiful meadows, tall mountains, and trees that would grow fruit. On the fourth day, God made the sun, moon, and stars. On the fifth day of creation, God made all of the animals that live in the ocean and then all of the birds that fly in the sky. On the sixth day, God made the animals. Huge elephants, tiny turtles, playful monkeys and majestic lions were created perfectly by Him! Then God continued to work and made the first man and the first woman. On the seventh day, God rested. Everything was complete and God saw that everything He made was good. Teach young children the story of creation and that God is perfect in all that He does. Simple text, coupled with beautiful illustrations, will have young learners reading along in no time.
