Library Edition Waiting for Forever: Book I Part One: The Throwaway Boy As the country’s religious and secular leaders battle over equality in the abstract, Brian McAllister and Jamie Mayfield live in the crossfire. In their little town of Crayford, Alabama, loving another boy is the worst kind of sin. Best friends since childhood, they explore their love and each other in Jamie’s backyard tree house as they hide from the world. They happily plan for the future together―until their lives are rocked when their secret is exposed and Jamie’s family intervenes. When hatred turns to violence in their sleepy little town, Brian tries to cope with the loss of his best friend, who is stolen in the night. In desperation, he turns to Adam, a new friend with a shared pain. Can Adam fill the hole left by Jamie’s absence? The answer will change everything. Adapted from the award-winning Little Boy Lost series by J. P. Barnaby. 100% of the author's royalties are being donated to help homeless LGBT kids find safe shelter.

Elisabeth's hand trembled as she lifted the jar of warm liquid. She wanted to run away and scream that it was all a mistake, but instead she took a deep breath and poured her urine over the plastic pregnancy tester. A few drops spilt on the bathroom tiles. She shivered. It was so unfair. They'd only done it a few times and it hadn't even been that good. Not like it was in books or movies. She looked at her watch and crossed her fingers as her brother rattled the door handle. I'm busy!' she yelled. All right, keep your hair on.' He walked away. Then, the blue lines appeared. Elisabeth stared at the tester and knew that now she had to make a choice.

eBook (Christian Faith Publishing, Inc., July 13, 2016)
As a Christian, she had so much wanted her life this year to touch others for good, to make a lasting impact. Julee writhed as dark things chased her. These two sentences bookend the story of high school senior Julee Willow—almost. Following a cataclysmic decision made out of terror and desperation, Julee’s ordered life is shattered. However, this is not a hopeless story for Julee’s life is not “irrevocably” shattered. Yes, she and her loved ones experience heartbreak, despair, and tragedy, but with Christ’s gentle guidance, she finds her way back from the dark and finds redemption and forgiveness, even hope, joy and a life abundant. Readers will have varying levels of difficulty reading this—Julee’s anguish is intimate and tangible—but there’s no one alive that should not read this very important and incredibly moving book. The greatest tragedy is that there is such a desperate need for this story to be told. The tears that scald, however, are also the tears that heal, and the message of God’s ever-presence and eager forgiveness resonates long after reading the last page.
