I was gonna see my gran and all my old friends and get away from all the bad stuff for a while. But that so didn't happen! It started going wrong as soon as I stepped off the bus and creepy Joshua tried to chat me up. Then the next day Gran didn't came home from the day centre. When the police turned up at Gran's bungalow looking all serious I was totally freaked. • The Twelve Quests - Book 4, Rapunzel's Hair

    Ana Fischel

    Paperback (YouWriteOn, Oct. 11, 2009)
The Twelve Quests, BOOK 4, Rapunzel’s Hair by Ana Fischel. It was 1849 and life was as tricky as loaded dice especially if you were about to take the biggest gamble of your life which 10 year old twins Albert and Florrie Leadington had been doing for several months and were about to do once again. After having successfully completed the first 3 of their dangerous quests you might be correct in thinking that luck was on their side but you couldn’t be more wrong as The Maze of Madness awaited them and worse still, young Florrie was about to be murdered by the very person she had come to trust – Arthur Canarthy – because despite the fact she and her brother had become fairly used to side-swiping the grim reaper’s attempts at claiming their lives, one really wouldn’t expect your own guardian to be wielding the knife... The inside of the castle was not at all what they expected. It was as if all evidence of time passing had simply been rubbed away. Grandfather clocks, cuckoo clocks and carriage clocks had all stopped at the exact same time. Cobwebs trailed down like old moth eaten wedding gowns and forgotten dust covered every surface. Clearly nothing had been touched for a very long time. All the curtains were closed even though it was broad daylight outside, and the rooms they passed appeared to be unoccupied. In fact, the only sign of life were hundreds of caged birds that squawked and sung mournfully. Intrigued? You should be if you like quirky fantasy adventure books full of danger, dark magic and mystical folklore! The first 6 in this series of The Twelve Quests (for 7 – 12 year olds) are now available to buy online via most main bookstores and are published by Arts Council funded YouWriteOn. The remaining 6 will be published in 2010. For more details, downloads, school workshops and to read sample chapters from any of the books please visit our official website at www.thetwelvequests.com
