Clan Malloc was born in London England. (Alan Mccoll writing as Clan Malloc). Growing up as a child in London during “The Blitz,” he had a near-miss with a “Doodle Bug” (Flying Bomb) which leveled a whole block of apartments in his neighborhood. (Alan Mccoll writing as Clan Malloc) He was then evacuated to Palmore, an estate near London, as a companion to Prince Leika of the displaced Royal Family of Albania. At sixteen he hitch-hiked in post war Spain, France and Germany. After a stint in the British RAF, he emigrated to the United States. He flew antique aircraft and became a flight instructor. Enjoying the vistas while flying the airlines in Puerto Rico, and cargo from Miami to South America while living in San Juan inspired Alan to become a muralist and painter. Alan draws heavily on these experiences to give us the adventures of Spencer. He lives with his wife, Donna in San Francisco.

It all began in 1958 when I was ten. A young family had just moved into the neighborhood. One sunny summer day while I was sitting on the steps to my house, a young boy came up to me and rolled his ball to my feet. With the sun in my face I said hi and rolled it back. He ran off. A few days later he did it again. I eventually became friends with him. I told my mom that a Chinese family had moved into the neighborhood and their son, Charlie, was my new friend. She said, bring him over for supper. I did and after supper he left and my mom told me a story about people who have something called "Mongoloidism", now Down Syndrome. I became his mentor to protect him from the bullies and I got beat up more than he did. He suddenly left and I vowed that I would do something in my life that would change that bullying attitude. This book is about the sixty years since that time where I made good on my vows. It is a group of chapters that comprise the ah ha moments in my journey as a caregiver all over the world. My two main characters are foxes: a female English red fox named Fiona, and an American gray fox named Fernando. Reading material that contains information and is not just a story encourages critical thinking skills which will help these students achieve higher goals at school.

Curly the Llama is a story about a small llama thought to be worthless. His fellow llamas made fun of him and he became very distraught. His fate uncertain, he gained his stature when he ended up on a sheep farm; later involved in a live nativity scene. The story gives hope to anyone who is considered a failure but rebounds and becomes anything but a failure.

This book takes place in Ireland at an Abbey. There is a mysterious death and the detectives in Ireland are all out sick with a flu epidemic. The visiting nuns call on their American friends to come over and solve the mystery. When they come over there are more deaths and now the detectives have more work to do. The visitors get to do a little bit of sightseeing. There are no naughty words in the book. It is written on a 4th grade reading level. All of my mystery books have the same group of cops. Enjoy!
