  • Spotlight On The Minor Prophets - Hosea: Part 4a & b, of a Christian home-group Bible Study series on the 12 Prophets

    James Paris, Agnieszka Gorak

language (Deanburn Publications, June 2, 2012)
Introducing The Minor prophets – Bible Study Guidebook: Hosea. The Prophet Hosea is the fourth book in this Bible study series 'Spotlight OnThe Minor Prophets'. Why are these giants of the scriptures called ‘Minor’? Simply because their books are typically short, and nothing at all to do with the importance of their individual messages, or indeed the impact they had on the listeners. These are not intended to be in-depth bible studies as such; but instead an introduction or summary of the Prophets, their times and influences both then and today. These short bible studies of the Old Testament Prophets are intended for individual or group use, and I have found them useful for encouraging debate and conversation, on all the topics that affected the peoples at that time; and now affect ourselves in today’s world.Job states that “As sure as sparks fly upwards, Man is born to trouble”. The social and economic troubles that the ancients faced are the same ones as we face now. It has been said that “if we do not learn from our mistakes, then we are doomed to repeat them”. Perhaps it’s time to listen to their problems and see what The Lord said to say through his spokesmen – whom we know as the ‘Minor Prophets’.Other Bible Study Books in the series: Spotlight On The Minor Prophets6 Book Bundle: Jonah – Micah6 Book Bundle Nahum - Malachi 12 Book Complete Study CourseIndividual Guidebooks:•Book 1 – Jonah•Book 2 – Obadiah•Book 3 – Joel•Book 4 – Hosea•Book 5 – Amos•Book 6 – Micah•Book 7 – Nahum•Book 8 – Zephaniah•Book 9 – Habakkuk•Book 10 – Haggai•Book 11 – Zechariah•Book 12 - Malachi

Intended to help young children overcome the fear of spiders and other phobias, these kids short stories have won acclaim from some of Amazon's top reviewers...Humor & Suspense make a first rate children's story - 4-1/2 stars"The three stories are well written and include the elements that make a good children's story: humor, suspense, and just enough danger to give the story some tension without being too scary. Also, each story is short enough to hold a child's attention. I don't usually comment on book covers, but the cover art is pretty cute, giving Archie a child's face instead of an anatomically correct spider's head, which would have been really scary...." J Chambers: Top 50 reviewerGood Bedtime Story"I'm not certain what age group would be able to easily read this, but it makes an excellent bedtime story for kids, including my own granddaughter who is enjoying exploring the world. There is danger, but not enough to stress out little kids. And they will relate well to being small in a very big world, just like Archie!..." TEACHING OUR CHILDREN TO LOVE, LAUGH & LEARN!The Mushroom Message in "Rules of Gold" is to treat others as you’d like to be treated.LEARNING TO LOVE TO READ is one of the most valuable gifts we can give a child. Adding laughter and sharing the love of reading as a joyful family activity can open the minds and hearts of your Young Mushroom Readers and add a wonderful spark to family connections. READING, LAUGHING AND LOVING TOGETHER is the heartfelt purpose of every Mushroom Tale. Our special recipe is prepared to shine a colorful light on the wonders of your own family’s life, filled with a positive self-image, self-respect, compassion, good citizenship and a caring, giving spirit. It starts here with Connie’s colorful, comical Mushroom characters. FOR YOUR YOUNG MUSHROOM READERS, Mushroom Tales are colorful Picture Books, where each illustration tells a story and shares an idea that can be easily identified and described by even the youngest family members. Even before reading the first verse, a conversation has begun, laughter is shared with parents and siblings. Not surprisingly, but rather magically, learning continues. Kids will learn of Family Values & Virtues while sharing the joy of family, laughter and of course, reading; that’s the Mushroom Mission. ALL PARENTS RAISING CHILDREN, whether Pre-Readers, Beginning Readers and even Intermediate Readers, will find the fun to read stories with the humorous and colorful hand-drawn illustrations, to be an excellent conversation starter. Every Mushroom Tales has a Mushroom Message, intended to shine a happy, character building light on subjects involving The Golden Rule, Kindness, Friendship, Emotions & Feelings, Manners & Etiquette and Self-Reliance. In the same manner, our Tales offer positive suggestions for solutions and further conversation about many Young Mushroom Readers’ challenges. Mushroom Tales also address Bullying, Single Moms & Single Dads, Peer Pressure, Immigration, Personal Motivation and Self-Esteem. We are always looking for suggestions from Mushroom Parents for subjects that could use a rhyming verse and a colorful illustration to serve as a lesson and a conversation starter. Your suggestions are sincerely appreciated and can be left on our website at www.MushroomTales.com. ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (ESL)On a global level, the Mushroom Team is personally committed to the connection of Multicultural families and families where, in many cases, young children will learn English as a second language, with no effort at all, while their parents, who may not be immersed in an English speaking routine, may have little hope of learning to communicate in English. The problems that can arise are obvious and stressful in their impact on the family bond. Our commitment is to offer every Mushroom Tale in a separate English/Spanish Bilingual version, where Young Mushroom Readers can read the stories in both English and Spanish, as the parents follow along in their native language, in this case, Spanish. Our goal is to help to eliminate the problem of children resisting the use of their native language while possibly helping their Mushroom Parents to learn a few keywords in English to advance their own communication skills in English. Since Mushroom Tales are rhyming books, we like to define the Mushroom Method as follows: LEARNING TO READ IS EXCITING! SHARING TIME AND A LAUGH IS GREAT FUN! MUSHROOM TALES SHARE A VERSE WITH A MESSAGE, THAT WILL LAST WHEN THE LESSON IS DONE. We are the Mushroom Tales team, with Mushrooms by Connie Robayo and Tales by David Freeman. There are Mushrooms with Tales, EVERYWHERE! Connect with Connie and David via Mushroom Mail for updates and a FREE eBooks version of each new Tale to enjoy and share. www.MushroomTales.com.
