This book is a result of an effort made by us towards making a contribution to the preservation and repair of original classic literature. In an attempt to preserve, improve and recreate the original content, we have worked towards: 1. Type-setting & Reformatting: The complete work has been re-designed via professional layout, formatting and type-setting tools to re-create the same edition with rich typography, graphics, high quality images, and table elements, giving our readers the feel of holding a 'fresh and newly' reprinted and/or revised edition, as opposed to other scanned & printed (Optical Character Recognition - OCR) reproductions. 2. Correction of imperfections: As the work was re-created from the scratch, therefore, it was vetted to rectify certain conventional norms with regard to typographical mistakes, hyphenations, punctuations, blurred images, missing content/pages, and/or other related subject matters, upon our consideration. Every attempt was made to rectify the imperfections related to omitted constructs in the original edition via other references. However, a few of such imperfections which could not be rectified due to intentional\unintentional omission of content in the original edition, were inherited and preserved from the original work to maintain the authenticity and construct, relevant to the work. We believe that this work holds historical, cultural and/or intellectual importance in the literary works community, therefore despite the oddities, we accounted the work for print as a part of our continuing effort towards preservation of literary work and our contribution towards the development of the society as a whole, driven by our beliefs. William Tufnell Le Queux (1864-1927) was an Anglo-French journalist and writer. He was also a diplomat (honorary consul for San Marino), a traveller (in Europe, the Balkans and North Africa), a flying buff who officiated at the first British air meeting at Doncaster in 1909, and a wireless pioneer who broadcast music from his own station long before radio was generally available. His best-known works remain the anti-German invasion fantasies "The Great War in England in 1897" (1894) and "The Invasion of 1910" (1906), the latter of which was a phenomenal bestseller. "The Seven Secrets" was originally published in 1903.

This is a reproduction of a book published before 1923. This book may have occasional imperfections such as missing or blurred pages, poor pictures, errant marks, etc. that were either part of the original artifact, or were introduced by the scanning process. Written around the time of WWI, this book may at first seem difficult to follow, especially when it comes to younger readers who are not used to the writing style of authors such as William Le Queux. However, once you get into it, you will find the novel to be one of the most perplexing murder mysteries you've ever laid eyes on. It all starts with Courtenay manor - the place where the nefarious deed was committed. Old Man Courtenay was found one day murdered in his own bed, with Scotland Yard being unable to find any clues as to the identity of the killer. Dr. Ralph Boyd, our main hero, is called to see if he can use his forensics knowledge to uncover any clues which indeed he does. However, for personal reasons, he keeps them a secret from all the other investigators. Soon enough, however, even as he avoids telling his acquaintance, Ambler Jevons - who is also investigating the murder on his own - about the important piece of information he had found, a new development arises that throws all his calculations off balance, making the mystery even more strange and ominous than it appeared at the start. The Seven Secrets is an impressive and somewhat pretentious novel that takes a little effort to follow. After a short time, however, you will find that getting accustomed to the writing style and following the plot is not as difficult as it would first seem. Many readers throughout the decades following the inception of this novel, as well as in modern times, have praised it for its precision and authenticity, as well as the originality of the plot and its surprising conclusion. If you enjoy a good murder mystery, you will undoubtedly enjoy reading through the work of William Le Queux, who manages to stay a few steps ahead of his readers along with each and every new development added to the storyline.
