About the Book Teaching methods comprise the principles and methods that are used by teachers to facilitate learning by students. Strategies are determined both by the subject matter to be taught and the characteristics of the student. While today’s schools encourage creativity, this was not always the case. Also in this Book Study Guides are books can be used by students to enhance or speed their comprehension of literature, research topics, history, mathematics or many other subjects. Topics that may be contained in a Study Guide include study and testing strategies; reading, writing, classroom, and project management skills. For example, in literature some study guides will summarize chapters of novels or the important elements of the subject. In the area of math and science study guides generally present problems and offer alternative techniques for the solution. And in this Book Education refers to the process of acquiring knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits. This can involve storytelling, discussion, teaching, training, and research that is directed by a teacher. While education is generally guided educators (teachers), students may also educate themselves (i.e. self taught). The science of teaching is called pedagogy, with its stages often including: preschool (kindergarten), primary school, secondary school (and possibly college), university, or apprenticeship to a master tradesman. • Mathematical Questions with Their Solutions, from the "Educational Times"; Vol. XLI

    W. J. C. Miller

Paperback (Leopold Classic Library, Nov. 30, 2015)
About the Book Mathematics is the study of such problems as quantity, structure, space, and change. Mathematicians seek out and implement patterns to formulate new theories; they resolve the veracity of theories by applying mathematical proofs. When mathematical frameworks provide good replications of actual events, then mathematics can improve our predictions about natural phenomena. Using theoretical abstraction and logic, over thousands of years mathematics has developed from simple calculation and measurement, to the systematic study of the shapes and dynamics of physical objects.
