    Beatrix Potter, Barbara McClintock

Paperback (Rabbit Ears Entertainment, June 18, 2013)
One day Hunca Munca and Tom Thumb, two young mice who live in a children's nursery, decide to explore the beautiful doll's house made of red brick, with real muslin curtains in the windows. After the dolls are taken for their walk by the girl who owns them, the mice sneak up the stairs into the doll's dining room. What should they find but a sumptuous feast of lobster, ham, fish, pudding, pears and oranges! But to their dismay, they discover the food is made of plaster and paint--not good to eat at all. • The Tale of Two Bad Mice

    Beatrice. Potter

    Hardcover (Warne, Jan. 1, 1996)
The Tale of Two Bad Mice is about two mice who vandalize a dollhouse. After finding the food on the dining room table made of plaster, they smash the dishes, throw the doll clothing out the window, tear the bolster, and carry off a number of articles to their mouse-hole. When the little girl who owns the dollhouse discovers the destruction, she positions a policeman doll outside the front door to ward off any future depredation. The two mice atone for their crime spree by putting a crooked sixpence in the doll's stocking on Christmas Eve and sweeping the house every morning with a dust-pan and broom.
