Moose On The Loose, based on a true story, is a whimsical, narrative children's poem, beautifully illustrated, cartoon style, in full-color. The title speaks for itself. The story and illustrations trace the escapades of poor, lost Moosey as he harmlessly rampages through a quaint Connecticut town on his search for home. As the nature lover, poet and author, Gladys M. Olsen, was flipping through her daily newspaper, she found herself face to face with the inspiration for the mischievous character, Moosey. The bull moose ran through southeastern Connecticut while frantically making pit stops through Connecticut College, sprinting through the Coast Guard Academy Grounds and startling drivers before ending up trapped in a fuel company's fenced grounds. Moose on the Loose is a tongue-in-cheek poetic tale filled with vibrant illustrations inspired by Olsen's sketches and drawn by artist Nicholas J. Germano, III. The story, all in rhyme, tells the tale of a runaway moose that arrived at two children's front door one snowy morning, only to take them on an exciting chase through a surprised town.
