The photographs were taken last fall on a trip to Oaxaca, Mexico. Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is celebrated in many Latin American countries on the last few Days of October and early November. The holiday celebrates the circle of life by honoring those who have died. The belief is that those who have died will return from the afterlife if they are enticed with their favorite foods, drinks, friends and family members. Preparing the altar, visits to the cemetery, parades and family gatherings are common events for the celebrations
