  • Legends: Heroes and Villains

    Anthony Horowitz

    Paperback (Kingfisher, Aug. 7, 2012)
From the pen of master storyteller Anthony Horowitz comes a new series of myths and legends from around the world, retold in a contemporary voice, and illustrated with bold, graphic artwork. Packed with Horowitz's signature action, humor, and suspense these collections feel fresh, modern, and perfect for today's fast-moving audience. The battle between good and evil has raged throughout time, in every corner of this world and the next. Some have fought using their superior strength, and some their wit and cunning. This collection features some epic favorites on both sides like Hercules, Theseus, and Polyphemus the Cyclops, and other less-familiar but equally fierce opponents like Polynesian trickster Maui, and Grendel of Beowolf. No matter if they fight with speed, skill, or sheer determination, they all have one thing in common: they will fight each other to the death.

  • Armenian Folk-Tales and Fables

    Charles Downing

Hardcover (Oxford Univ Pr, June 1, 1979)
These folk-tales were told by simple people--vine-dressers, farm-laborers, millers--and were preserved by word of mouth, to be repeated for entertainment in the coffee-house, or at home during the long, hard winters. There are fables here, too, selected from the collections of medieval scholars and philosophers, while the expressive and often humorous proverbs show the ways of the world through shrewd Armenian eyes.

  • Legends End Book One: War: Part One: The Lives We Lost

    Aaron Bodine

Paperback (Fictional Dungeon Productions, Dec. 10, 2015)
Join the fantasy adventures of Eko, Kat, and Clayton as they travel across land and time! Appropriate for ages 8+ with an entertaining story line and plenty of humor for all ages. Here's a sneak peek: Eko, an Elf of only twelve years from a long since burned ancient village, sat slumped in the corner of his cell, his yellow eyes focusing in the darkness. He was fairly young for an Elf, for Elves live twice as long as humans. His misleading height of five feet eleven inches, taller than most races of his age, led him to appear much older than he was. Eko had an impish face, distorted a little by a nasty scar across his right eye. He sniffed in the cold. Being in a dungeon is never a good thing, save for the adventure. The entire underground prison smelled of wet dog though, and there were no other living creatures except for him and his captors. “You could at least stop the infernal dripping!” Eko yelled into the silence. Water from the river above dripped down on his face. He felt the cold stone against his back through the filthy tunic he wore. “I shall freeze long before you put your plans for me into action!” He looked up at the cracked and mossy stone ceiling of the underground prison he was being kept in, water flowing through the seams and dripping on his face. “I will die in this cell,” he muttered to himself.
