Perhaps Don Morgan had acquired too high an opinion of himself after his successful season trapping in Starbuck Valley Winter. Certainly his joint fishing venture along the British Columbia coast with his old friend Tubby Miller seemed to be ill fated. The catches of fish were poor, Don and Tubby quarrelled and parted company, and finally in a desperate attempt to assert himself Don found himself on the wrong side of the law.
