The immediate goal of Kids Care! is to help children formulate a plan of action to make a difference, and then to help them see the plan through to completion. * Kids Care about Cats & Dogs: Kids begin with simple pet-oriented projects such as making cat and dog toys, and growing their own catnip or baking (and selling) dog biscuits. Then, it's on to creating a home pet care service, making "welcome" toys for humane shelters, learning games to play with cats and dogs for their excercise and companionship. * Kids Care about Wildlife: Simple things kids can do to help animals in their own neighborhoods or backyards including making removable stick-on window art to protect birds, building birdhouses for birds whose habitat is threatened, and grwoing sunflowers for wildlife. * Kids Care about People: Simple things to help others feel more comfortable in new surroundings, helping older people with day-to-day chores, learning to listen, making cards and small gifts to bring good cheer, helping kids who miss a lot of school, how to hold fundraisers, food and blanket drives. * Kids Care about Environment: Kids make everything from useful (and funny) recycle bins to door "snakes" and rain catchers.
