I am fortunate that my learning process began at a young age, and at this very moment, I continue to evolve - to learn. I have only come this far by humbling myself and realizing that I do not know everything. I must continue to live through every blow that life throws at me; and every heartbreak that is to be endured. There is no way to get around any of it, but to learn from all of it. Herein lies the essence of "Beginner's Mind".

Norma Jean Campanaro is a true renaissance woman living in Washington State and Hilo, Hawaii. She's a poet, a painter, and a modern-day philosopher. Her poetry is as insightful as it is honest. Michael Truly is a Dallas artist who focused on his artistic gifts from very early childhood, eventually leading to his bachelor of arts degree (University of Oklahoma, 1958) and on throughout his long career as a painter. He has worked in a variety of media in commercial art, mural painting, serigraphy, as well as teaching painting. He continued to study privately with various painters in Dallas, in most recent years with the prominent Liz Richardson. Mike’s paintings are in private collections in Dallas and other Texas cities, as well as on the West Coast, and his work has regularly appeared in the Dallas Museum of Art Staff Art Show since 2006. Just as his devotion to art has characterized Mike throughout his life, so has the playful humor that has sometimes emerged, for example, in his small whimsical copies of historic paintings, with images of himself posed in a place of the original subject (imagine the Abduction of Europa replaced by the Abduction of Michael).

This is my first book and I am not a professional writer or author of any other book. I am fond of writing stories sometimes. Just popped into my mind and said to myself and makes myself write freely about fish so I started to get a pen and write. I started to draw some fish pictures and to color it. My daughter then, she was 6 years old named Sasha, started helping me with coloring the pictures I've drawn. So we started doing the drawings and coloring and we ended up writing this story about fish. Now my daughter is 8 years old and I hope kids will enjoy reading the book.

Someone That I Know is a children’s book that is designed for a very young children to believe in Someone that of a greater power. The book teaches the young that wherever they may be on this Earth, there is that Someone that is always be there for them. Even if you may find yourself in the wrong, that Someone will be there for you night or day. The book is written in as a poem and may also be used for pleasurable reading. Also, when in trial, read this book it will be a lesson that will be of use for the rest of their lives. It will be a lesson that can be passed down through generation. The truth of this book will last forever. I was born in Newport New, Virginia, in 1945, the youngest of ten children. At a very early age the entire family moved to Rich Square, a small town in North Carolina. Life wasn’t all peaches and cream during that time, farming was pretty much the only way of life. Even thought too young to work, spending the entire day in the fields was common for all kids in the area. As a teenager, I worked in the fields picking cotton at two cents a pound which was top price in the 1950’s. After graduating from W.S. Creecy High School, I then went back to Newport News, Virginia, where I learned the trade of brick laying. I have two children of my own and have always been fascinated with the learning of young children. I feel that I have a lot to share with the young and enjoy doing so.
