Daisy Miller is a late 19th century work written by author Henry James about a confused courtship between an American girl and her compatriot Winterbourne, wh ois an individual with a much greater deal of sophistication than herself. When they meet in Switzerland and Italy, his prsuit of Daisy is hampered by her flirtatiousness that is not looked at very highly by fellow expatriates. This classic tragedy by Henry James is largely deals with the understanding of differences of societies and social mores created by these differences. This is an important work by Henry james and should not be passed up by those interested in his writings.
