  • Make Some Noise! II

    Youth Anthology

Paperback (Motion Publications, Aug. 10, 2005)
Poetry inspires young people's creativity. Poetry inspires young people to be different—unique. Poetry gives young people a new alternative. Poetry gives us a voice, allowing us to be heard. Today's youth have the most untainted feelings in the world because of all that we must go through. Peer pressure can be a powerful influence on a teenager and the decisions that we make concerning alcohol, drugs, sex, love, the perfect body and more. Writing allows me to express my deepest feelings without fear and even to unwind after a long day. I journal write a great deal because it is a way that I can momentarily escape from my hectic life and come back feeling renewed. Make Some Noise! is a wonderful publication and I want to thank Motion Publications and Terry a O'Neal, for giving me the opportunity to come out from underneath my shell and share my thoughts and feelings with the world—it means more than one can imagine. It has given me the confidence, strength and hope that I need to take life's next step. Anthologies like this one are not common. It is so amazing to read the poems in this book because it lets me know that I am not the only one dealing with teen issues that are difficult to talk about. So parents, when you read these poems, remember that the authors are real, and the troubles and questions that we are facing are real. In closing, I would like to encourage all young people to keep writing, get out those feelings or situations that you are unable to speak about and in doing so, you never know, you could be the next big thing! ~Brooke Brewer

  • The 'Be Brave' Stories

    Andrew Pender-Smith

eBook (Green Monkey Publications, Jan. 24, 2019)
A little bit crazy, fun-loving, friendly, adventurous, and definitely brave. Big Bruce the blue balloon, Linda the potato who loves singing and everything pink, and Sylvester the carrot with long purple hair who enjoys dancing, are the three unusual characters you will meet in this book. The four adventure stories that have been put together to make this book are: ‘Floating into Happiness’ (The little story with a big heart.), ‘Singing and Clapping’, ‘THAT’S’ FANTASTIC!’ and ‘BIG in the Big Top’. If you are looking for a book that is uplifting, warm, fun-filled and, at times, more than a bit zany, Big Bruce the blue balloon, Linda the potato and Sylvester the carrot might just be the very ones to help you have fun while encouraging you to ‘Be Brave’ in your life.
