"Mr. Chippy" lives in the woods, surrounded by animal friends. One winter's day, little Basil Bear dashed up from the pond, which had frozen over and reported excitedly, "You can WALK on the water, it's gone all STIFF and slippery!" The animal were having great fun sliding around on the ice. Mr. Chippy thought about it and decided that the animals needed skates, and he stayed up all night to carve skates for them out of wood. The animal had great fun, and along the way, Tom Badger, who was somewhat of a bully, learned the hard way that it was better to be nice.
