  • Straightforward Thoughts for Young Men: What Every Young Man Must Consider Now, Before It's Too Late

    J. C. Ryle

eBook (Aneko Press, May 1, 2019)
For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary the one to the other – Galatians 5:17Young men, you form a large and very important class in the population of this country; but where, and in what condition, are your souls? I am growing old myself, but there are few things that I can remember so well as the days of my youth. I have a most distinct recollection of the joys and the sorrows, the hopes and the fears, the temptations and the difficulties, the mistaken judgments and the misplaced affections, and the errors and the aspirations which surround and accompany a young man’s life. If I can only say something to keep some young man walking in the right way and preserve him from faults and sins, which may hurt his prospects both for time and eternity, I shall be very thankful. There are four things which I propose to do: 1.I will mention some general reasons why young men need exhorting.2.I will note some special dangers which young men need to be warned about.3.I will give some general advice which I beg young men to receive.4.I will set down some special rules of conduct which I strongly advise young men to follow. On each of these four points I have something to say, and my young friend, I pray to God that what I say may do good to your soul. – J. C. RyleUpdated edition based on Thoughts for Young MenAbout the AuthorJohn Charles Ryle (1816-1900) graduated from Eton and Oxford and then pursued a career in politics, but due to lack of funds, he entered the clergy of the Church of England. He was a contemporary of Spurgeon, Moody, Mueller, and Taylor and read the great theologians like Wesley, Bunyan, Knox, Calvin, and Luther. These all influenced Ryle’s understanding and theology. Ryle began his writing career with a tract following the Great Yarmouth suspension bridge tragedy, where more than a hundred people drowned. He gained a reputation for straightforward preaching and evangelism. He travelled, preached, and wrote more than 300 pamphlets, tracts, and books, including Expository Thoughts on the Gospels, Principles for Churchmen, and Christian Leaders of the Eighteenth Century. Ryle used the royalties from his writing to pay his father’s debts, but he also felt indebted to that ruin for changing the direction of his life. He was recommended by Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli to be Bishop of Liverpool where he ended his career in 1900.
  • The Jubilee Bible: From the Scriptures of the Reformation

    Russell M. Stendal

eBook (Aneko Press, Jan. 30, 2013)
In the Jubilee Bible, careful attention has been given to translate Hebrew and Greek words consistently into the same English word. This allows the reader to follow a word through the Old Testament and into the New Testament, giving a clearer picture than ever before of what each word means in its own context. This translation uniformity is essential for serious Bible study and for personal application.About the TextsBased on the Scriptures from the Reformation era. Translated into Spanish from the original texts in Hebrew and Greek by Casiodoro de Reina (1569) and compared with the revision of Cipriano de Valera (1602). Based on the New Testament of Francisco de Enzinas (1543) and on the New Testament (1556) with the Psalms (1557) of Juan Pérez de Pineda. This material was then translated from Spanish into English by Russell M. Stendal and compared with the Old English Translation of William Tyndale (Pentateuch of 1530, Ploughboy Edition New Testament of 1534, Joshua to 2 Chronicles of 1537, and Jonah). It was also compared word for word with the Authorized Version (by King James) of 1611. About the EditorRussell Stendal, a former hostage of Colombian rebels, is a lifelong missionary to that same group in the jungles of Colombia. He is an influential friend to military and government leaders in Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Venezuela, and the United States. Russell’s ministry shares the gospel via twelve radio stations, hundreds of thousands of Bibles, books, and movies, which are distributed through airplane parachute drops. Accepting numerous speaking engagements for groups of leaders, prisoners, and individuals, Russell goes wherever the Lord leads, whether it’s to speak with a president or to go deep into the jungle to help an individual in trouble. Through this ministry, he has witnessed thousands commit their lives to Christ.
  • Pilgrim’s Progress

    John Bunyan

Paperback (Aneko Press, Jan. 15, 2015)
Often disguised as something that would help him, evil accompanies Christian on his journey to the Celestial City. As you walk with him, you’ll begin to identify today’s many religious pitfalls. These are presented by men such as Pliable, who turns back at the Slough of Despond; and Ignorance, who believes he’s a true follower of Christ when he’s really only trusting in himself. Each character represented in this allegory is intentionally and profoundly accurate in its depiction of what we see all around us, and unfortunately, what we too often see in ourselves. But while Christian is injured and nearly killed, he eventually prevails to the end. So can you. The best part of this book is the Bible verses added to the text. The original Pilgrim’s Progress listed the Bible verse references, but the verses themselves are so impactful when tied to the scenes in this allegory, that they are now included within the text of this book. The text is tweaked just enough to make it readable today, for the young and the old. Youngsters in particular will be drawn to the original illustrations included in this wonderful classic.

  • Has the Bible Been Changed?: The Reliability of the Scriptures According to Jewish, Christian, and Islamic Sources

    Dan Wickwire

eBook (Aneko Press, Aug. 1, 2016)
Muslims all over the world are ignoring the message of the New Testament because their teachers say its text has been corrupted. Yet very few of them have checked to see whether what their teachers say is true.- David Byle, chairman of the Bible Correspondence Course in Turkey (bccturkey.org)What does it take to persuade an entire Islamic nation to recall and rewrite their religious education materials in order to no longer teach that the Bible has been changed? Only one thing: the Qur’an itself. The Qur’an clearly states that the Bible has not been changed and, even more shockingly, says that anyone who teaches that the Bible has been changed is in fact doomed to hell. This book, Has the Bible Been Changed?, was the reason that in 1996 the Department of Religious Affairs in Turkey recalled their existing teaching materials. As you explore these pages, you will see exactly what the Qur’an says that is so powerful that even Islamic leaders are caused to reverse course. But this book is not persuasive with many words. Rather, it shows the reader Scripture verses and other pertinent facts that will help lead one to the ultimate Truth, that there is indeed only one God, and the way to Him is through His Son, Jesus Christ. It behooves you to read this book to know that you can put your faith and confidence in the entire Bible, that it is indeed the unchangeable, inerrant Word of God.And we did give Moses the guidance and made the Children of Israel to inherit the Scripture. A guide and a reminder for men of understanding (Mu’min 40:53-54).About the AuthorDan Wickwire was born in California in 1951 and grew up in the city of Bakersfield. • Faithful to Christ: A Challenge to Truly Live for Christ

Charles H. Spurgeon, Saethon Williams, Aneko Press

Audible Audiobook (Aneko Press, Nov. 22, 2019)
"Only fear the Lord and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you." (1 Samuel 12:24) "If there is a true faith, there must be a declaration of it. If you are a candle, and God has lit you, then let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in the heavens." (Matthew 5:16) Soldiers of Christ must, like soldiers of our nation, wear their uniforms; and if they are ashamed of their uniforms, they ought to be drummed out of the army. I believe that many Christians get into a lot of trouble by not being honest in their convictions. For instance, if a person goes into a workshop, or a soldier into a barracks, and if he does not fly his flag from the beginning, it will be very difficult for him to run it up afterward. But if he immediately and boldly lets them know, "I am a Christian, and there are certain things that I cannot do to please you, and certain other things that I cannot help doing even though they might displease you" - when that is clearly understood, after a while, the peculiarity of the thing will be gone, and the person will be let alone. However, if he is a little dishonest and thinks that he is going to please the world and please Christ too, he can depend on it that he is in for a rough time. If he tries the way of compromise, his life will be like that of a toad under a harrow or a fox in a dog kennel. That will never do. Come out. Show your colors. Let it be known who you are and what you are. Although your course will not be smooth, it will certainly not be half as rough as if you tried to run with the hare and hunt with the hounds, which is a very difficult piece of business. The list of chapters in the audiobook include: Pride Broken Keys Double-Mindedness Labor That Doesn't Satisfy The Table of the Reprobate The Self-Righteous Guests Drunk with the World Going Through the Fire Laziness Faith Awaken, Oh Sleeper! Spurgeon - A Brief Biography About the author: Charles Haddon (C.H.) Spurgeon (1834-1892) was a British baptist preacher. He started preaching at age 17 and quickly became famous. He is still known as the "prince of preachers" and frequently had more than 10,000 people present to hear him preach at the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London. • Humility

Andrew Murray, Robert Grothe, Aneko Press

Audible Audiobook (Aneko Press, April 7, 2017)
Is humility a Christlike attribute that should be pursued? And even if it should be, can genuine humility actually be attained? Often so practical in application that it is overlooked, the answer is found by studying the life and words of Christ (whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your slave). This little book is a loud call to all committed Christians to prove that meekness and lowliness of heart is the evidence by which those who follow the meek and lowly Lamb of God are to be known. Never mind that your initial efforts will be misunderstood, taken advantage of, or even resisted. Instead, learn from the One who came not to be ministered unto, but to serve. For a Christian to be alive, for the life of Christ to reign in and through us, we must be empty of ourselves, exchanging our life for his life, our pride for true, Christlike humility.
  • How to Study the Bible

Dwight L. Moody, Lyle Blaker, Aneko Press

In joy and sorrow, in health and in sickness, in poverty and in riches, in every condition of life, God has a promise stored up in His Word for you. This classic book by Dwight L. Moody brings to light the necessity of studying the Scriptures, presents methods that help stimulate excitement for the Scriptures, and offers tools to help you comprehend the difficult passages in the Scriptures. • The Greatest Fight: Spurgeon's Urgent Message for Pastors, Teachers, and Evangelists

Charles H. Spurgeon, Saethon Williams, Aneko Press

Audible Audiobook (Aneko Press, Feb. 22, 2018)
And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power. (1 Corinthians 2:4) This audiobook examines three things that are of utmost importance in this fight of faith. The first is our armory, which is the inspired Word of God. The second is our army, the church of the living God, which we must lead under our Lord's command. The third is our strength, by which we wear the armor and use the sword. The message in this audiobook, when originally presented by Charles Spurgeon in his final address to his own Pastor's College, was received rapturously and enthusiastically. It was almost immediately published and distributed around the world and in several languages. After Charles Spurgeon's death in 1892, 34,000 copies were printed and distributed to pastors and leaders in England through Mrs. Spurgeon's book fund. It is with great pleasure that we present this updated and very relevant audiobook to the Lord's army of today. About the author: Charles Haddon (C. H.) Spurgeon (1834-1892) was a British Baptist preacher. He started preaching at age 17 and quickly became famous. He is still known as the "Prince of Preachers" and frequently had more than 10,000 people present to hear him preach at the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London. His sermons were printed in newspapers, translated into many languages, and published in many books.
  • The Pursuit of God

    A. W. Tozer

Paperback (Aneko Press, July 1, 2015)
To have found God and still to pursue Him is a paradox of love, scorned indeed by the too-easily-satisfied religious person, but justified in happy experience by the children of the burning heart. Saint Bernard of Clairvaux stated this holy paradox in a musical four-line poem that will be instantly understood by every worshipping soul: We taste Thee, O Thou Living Bread, And long to feast upon Thee still: We drink of Thee, the Fountainhead And thirst our souls from Thee to fill. Come near to the holy men and women of the past and you will soon feel the heat of their desire after God. Let A. W. Tozer’s pursuit of God spur you also into a genuine hunger and thirst to truly know God.
