In addition to a number of novels published in the first quarter of the 20th century, he edited and wrote for several newspapers and journals in Maine and served as military secretary to Governor John F Hill of Maine from 1901-04. This novel, subtitled 'Being the Personal Narrative of Ross Sidney, Diver', was first published in 1917.
