Tricked It is Halloween night in Watertown, NY. Eleven-year-old Patrick Jacobs is excited that, for the first time, he'll be allowed to go Trick-or-Treating without his adult supervision. With his Dad deployed in Iraq, and his Mom busy with a new baby, it seems like a no-brainer that he'd be permitted to roam the neighborhood with three of his buddies. His mother's only stipulations are that he take along his six-year-old sister, Mariah, and that he stick to the "safe" route that she lays out for them. But peer pressure from his friends, and the lure of a spectacular "Halloween House," slightly off the beaten path, tempts Patrick to break the rules. Before he knows what's happening, Mariah vanishes. What started out as a night of innocent fun, turns into the most terrifying, and maybe the last, ride of his life.

It's Halloween, a time for children to go out and collect candy. When two twin brothers, Frankie and Ronnie Marks, decide to go Trick-or-Treating in their neighborhood, Frankie decides to take the easier, shorter path while Ronnie chooses to go on the longer, harder path. Frankie comes home earlier with a smaller bag than Ronnie, who comes home later with a larger bag. Same proportions of candy are eaten by both twins and, before Frankie knew it, he has eaten all of his candy first! What happens when Carlos, their father, takes Ronnie's candy and redistributes it among the two? How does Ronnie react and what effects does this have on him when Halloween comes around next year?

Times are changing at Fairy Tale Reform School. At least, that's what Gilly's heard. Rumor is that notorious trickster Rumpelstiltskin has taken over management from Headmistress Flora, and he's locked down the school tighter than the Pied Piper's pants. Not that this news concerns Gilly-she's been released from FTRS and is now suffering through attending Jack of All Trades School where she gets to learn about different kinds of shoe leather and ways to measure feet (truly riveting stuff!). But when Gilly's little sister Anna gets whisked off to FTRS (thanks to her troublemaking new friends Hansel and Gretel), Gilly knows she's got to get Anna out of there and that there's only one way to do it: get herself thrown back in.
