The YOUNG ENGINEERS In NEVADA.

This novel is one of five books featuring civil engineers Harry Hazelton and Tom Reade. In this adventure by the prolific H. Irving Hancock, Harry and Tom deal with claim jumpers, explosions, reprehensible characters, blizzards and the nicotine addicted Alf in an effort to find gold and silver at the Ambition Mine. The colloquial speech of the time is both funny and at the same time can be in part politically incorrect. The adventures of the young men attempting to secure their futures while battling gunmen with an accurately thrown rocks and steady demeanor are now a bit improbable, but at the time they were written, they were realistic enough to draw thousands of readers, both young and adult.
