  • The Frog and the Butterfly

    Rufus Williams

Paperback (Strategic Book Publishing & Rights Agency, LLC, May 11, 2012)
Junior Frog lives in a beautiful, magical valley. But Junior is unhappy because he thinks he is ugly. Because he thinks he is ugly, he acts ugly; and so, no one wants to play with him and he has no friends. A wise old owl exiles Junior from the valley where they live so that Junior can discover "The lesson of the mirror." Junior's hazardous adventures nearly prove fatal, but the good heart he never thought he had saves the day. In the end, Junior can hardly believe what he discovers about "The lesson of the mirror." Written and illustrated by Rufus Williams, The Frog and the Butterfly tells a wonderful story about true beauty. The author says, "I grew up in Mississippi and we were very poor. I guess that's how I came to know and love little critters so much." Rufus Williams currently lives in San Luis Obispo, California. "I love children, and I love animals and all of nature. So this book is very special to me. I have always felt close to nature and nature's creatures. I find them interesting and sometimes wiser than we humans are. The characters kind of took root in my mind and heart, and the story emerged." Publisher's website: http://sbpra.com/RufusWilliams

  • Ammi and the Butterfly

    Anton Andonov

    eBook
These three fairy tales have been related – only after reading all of them one can comprehend some of the character’s words and actions. In the same time, each tale is a separate and complete story. A violet story of the old world – Two boys, Leo and Cezar, live in two parallel realities of our world. Aman, a mushroom-like mighty sorceress with a peculiar sense of humor, challenges them and shows them through the underworlds, where they can see the roots of beauty, love, creativeness, sacrifice, and rain. A fairy hawk is their reticent companion. In the end, in the lowest of the worlds, they meet Ammi – the little niece of Aman. Ammi and the butterfly – Ammi sets out to look for her mother – Ieva – the most beautiful of three sisters, the mighty sorceresses of the first of the worlds. Ieva, Aman and Gerr live in harmony until Gorh, an eagle from the Sun, appears. After some tragic events, disguised as a wonderful butterfly, Aman secretly helps little Ammi to look for her mother in dangerous and enchanted places. Ammi has other helpers too – two clever little fillies, her mother’s court musicians, and also the hawk of Gerr. In the end they would probably meet Ieva but in such a way that nobody would expect. The adventures of Denny – Denny, a girl, enchanted by a handsome captain of a little paper-boat, goes with him to meet different ordeals and to encounter strange and fairy characters, among them – Lady of the Night and the peculiar Aman. This two feature in the other two fairy tales, which tell us about the earlier events. Denny grows up in the world where reality and fantasy entwine a way, totally personal, to happiness.
