Bible stories take on new life with this collection of eyewitness accounts from surprise sources: a dove, a lion, a stallion, and more. Using the ancient and imaginative art of storytelling, this book will delight children of all ages and beg to be read aloud. Adults will also enjoy these stories, and can use them to enrich personal and group Bible study. Discussion questions for children and adults are included at the end of each story, making it the perfect book for a church "On the Same Page" reading group or other inter-generational program.
  • Noah's Art and other stories

    F.X. Lord

    language (, Aug. 1, 2018)
An exercise in imagination and drama. Some ghost stories, some thrillers, some sci-fi, some bog standard dramas even; I don't discriminate. Each story grows in word count and complexity leading up to Noah's Art (the title of which I claim since Noah's Art was published as a novella six months before the novel of the same name, so there).Yes I know this is supposed to be third person but it seems stupid because it's the writer writing it, disingenuous even, so I'm dropping that particular convention because I believe it is dated. I do that with a lot of conventions, I can be really irritating to know personally. The first two stories won online contests, which were the first two pieces of prose I'd written since I was twelve years-old. I took the hint and that's what writing these stories was about, growing myself as a writer. I hope you enjoy what you read, nothing else to say really is there?

  • On Fire: and other Bible Stories

    Irene Howat

    Paperback (CF4Kids, Jan. 20, 2012)
Watch out - these stories are H...H...Hot!Each one is about fire - but there's not a matchstick or a marshmallow in sight! They are all from the bible and show how God has used fire throughout scripture in a variety of ways. He used fire to get Moses to pay attention. He used it to help the Israelites find their way through the dark. He used it to keep Adam and Eve out of the garden. But fire also appears in the New Testament... soldiers with torches arrest Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane. Peter warms himself by some flames while at the same time he denies the Lord Jesus. Jesus himself cooks a fish Barbie on the beach after his resurrection and the Holy Spirit comes down on the disciples at Pentecost with tongues of flame.
