The Tunnel of Time is a children's book with a moral that chronicles the life of nine-year-old Lenny Peters and his faithful three-year-old beagle buddy, Bingo. Suddenly, after being punished by his father for not doing his daily chores, Lenny finds that he and Bingo have been whisked back in time 150 years, where life was much harder than he could ever imagine. Back then, there were kerosene lanterns instead of electricity, and horses and buggies instead of cars, and all of the family's daily chores were magnified tenfold! Back then, chores took every waking minute, from early morning to late night. There was no time to daydream under the old oak tree. Boy, did Lenny learn his lesson. In only a short period of time, Lenny realized that even with all of the chores he had to do at home, he had it easy, compared to his early ancestors. So he would never complain again! Now, how could he get back to his life in modern America? that was the question. Find out for yourself whether Lenny and Bingo ever get back home, or keep traveling back through time.
