The furred and feathered friends of Katrina Castaways are together once again--Bruno, the Newfoundland; Fawn, the Chihuahua; Toby, the Dachshund mix; and the cats, Jasmine, Ivory and Will, and the adventuresome Macaw parrot, Angus. The Wallace family has moved to a new house in a small town north of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This time the animals try to help Spike and Blacky, a pair of abused pit bulls who live as guard dogs in a junkyard, and Blacky’s mother who has just had a litter of puppies. Discovered by Angus on one of his daytime flights the friends hoard food for the parrot to bring to the hungry dogs. The junkyard is actually a front for fencing stolen goods and the owner is also involved in illegal dog fighting. Angus’s efforts to help the dogs put him at risk because the junkyard owner is determined to capture the parrot. The animals know they need human help, and time is running out.
