  • To Be Frankie

    Marcus Saieva

eBook (Outskirts Press, Inc, Jan. 26, 2016)
“To Be Frankie is an inspiring book with well drawn characters and an exciting ending.” —Mary Embree, literary consultant, editor, TV scriptwriter, and author of The Author’s Toolkit and other books on writing. A story with a message and never a dull moment. 17-year-old Frankie Vincente was sent back to the ninth grade due to an accident that affected his brain function. But in spite of his disabilities he never gave up. A likeable kid with a big heart, he lived with his family on their 100-acre grape orchard in central California. His sister Anna was an attractive 22-year-old who gave Frankie a ride to Walnut Street School in her red convertible classic Mustang every Friday. When Calvin, a mean school bully, saw Frankie being driven to school by his hot sister, he became furiously jealous. He and his cronies wouldn’t stop bullying Frankie, until Katie, who they called Red Headed Kate, saved the day on Christmas morning. Some would think that Katie had a crush on Frankie, but she would never tell. Thanks to Kate’s help, Frankie, who had been the victim became the victor and in the page-turner ending, the bullies were forgiven.

Not everybody getsto have super powers. But then again, not everybody discovers a voodoo doll stashed away at the top of their cupboard. And even the few who do discover a voodoo doll stashed away at the top of their cupboard probably never stop to wonder what would happen if they put their own name into it. I mean, thats just insane, isnt it? Like running with scissors or poking a sleeping bear.Steven is not an irresponsible boy and is, in fact, vehemently opposed to poking bears, sleeping or otherwise. In his defense, how was he to know it was a voodoo doll? He thought it was just a very awesome action figure with a pink pin stuck in its chest and the name Kyle Moorehouse wedged into its back.Curiously though, Kyle Moorehouse was the previous owner of this house and, even more curiously, was also the person who had been found dead on the kitchen floor.Coincidence? Or murder?Steven may just have poked the bear without even knowing it.
