  • Follow That Car

    Lucy Feather, Stephan Lomp

eBook (HMH Books for Young Readers, April 7, 2020)
Packed with comic capers and animal antics, this brilliantly bold book follows Mouse’s madcap pursuit of Gorilla through a variety of exciting settings. Are you ready? Then let’s go! Follow that car! Start your engines! As Mouse hops on his motorcycle to chase after Gorilla, the duo dashes through busy building sites, rolling railway stations, alpine avalanches, and more! Teeming with detail-rich scenes and slapstick humor . . . as well as every kind of comical car, boat, truck, and train . . . the book rewards and delights a gleeful poring over of its pages—while also ending up with a satisfyingly silly reason for all the adventure. Is Gorilla such a baddie after all?
  • Follow That Hat

    Pierre Pratt

Library Binding (Annick Press, Sept. 1, 1992)
In this wonderful story, Pratt does some of his best work. The simple, slightly sardonic text relates Leon's heroic attempts to recover his favorite hat after it is whisked off his head by a gust of wind. His hat remains elusive in spite of Leon's energetic pursuit in a taxi, on his bicycle, with an express train, an ocean liner and through the Amazon rain forest. Ultimately, he does catch up to it and takes immense satisfaction tenderly placing it back on his head--until a gust of wind blows by an identical hat. The text style is set in contrast to the richly detailed, exuberant, and expressive art work. Bold colors and slightly surrealistic images depict a series of tableaus that draw the reader into the humor and beauty of Pratt's art work.

  • Follow That Frog

    Philip C. Stead, Matthew Cordell

Hardcover (Neal Porter Books, Feb. 2, 2021)
When a curiously croaking stranger comes knocking at the door, Aunt Josephine launches into a rambling tale about her lifelong pursuit of a rare giant frog.Eccentric Aunt Josephine poignantly ignores a stranger knocking at her door as she tells her niece Sadie the story of her time in the jungles of Peru, cataloguing amphibians for the scientific team of Admiral Rodriguez. When the admiral's son was suddenly swallowed by a giant frog, Aunt Josephine gave chase in a journey which took her around the world. In the tradition of Philip Stead and Caldecott Medalist Matthew Cordell's previous collaborations Special Delivery and The Only Fish in the Sea, this is a story full of rambunctious fun and sensationally appealing artwork.
