But over the past few centuries, miraculous and strange things never happen. Everything is supposedly explained by science. But now the earth is again in a state of unrest and this time there is no heroes to protect the earth. So now the nature has decided to employ its own forces, the forces of the elements- earth, fire, water and air. But in this modern world, there is something that is very important, the thing we need to run our iPods, our appliances and even the laptop I am using now! It is electricity and it becomes the fifth element. For long nature is roaming all around the globe in the shape of the egg, trying to find the suitable people- the people who work together as a team, as brothers! And now he has finally found the ones suitable, the ones who will form the team known as the ‘Elements’! Vivek Unnikrishnan, a young Indian boy studying in 10th standard in Kuwait, always dreamt about superheroes and being a superhero. Now of 14, he decided to follow his dreams but in a different way. He decided to create his own band of superheroes, each having the power of the elements of nature- the elements such as fire, water, earth and air and also the new, most important element- electricity. He decided to have himself and his cousins as the characters of the story and provided the story a backdrop in India. His brother Vinayak Unnikrishnan, who is now studying in 7th, also provided ideas and he was able to make it appealing to children. This story, ‘Elements’ shows how important brother hood is, which is what is lacking the most in this modern society. The heroes of the elements work together just as the elements if nature to strike a balance in this world. There are some Malayalam words in this story but the meanings are provided too. A tall well dressed man walks up to me. "Hello Ella, don't be afraid, we're just here to take you back where you belong." "I don't understand." I say, my voice shaking. I scream, kick, scratch, flail, pinch, and do every other thing I was taught to do in this situation. Until whatever is in the dart starts to take effect. This is (inconveniently) almost immediately. My head begins to feel light and heavy all at the same time, my eyes droop and I stop screaming. I let my body relax (probably not a good idea in this situation) and I feel as if I'm floating. Through my peripheral vision I notice Oliver has been picked up as well. My heart aches for my friend, if I had just listened to him, we wouldn't be in this mess.
