The book is designed for pre-schoolers and for children learning to read. Included within the book are images from everyday life. Each page contains a riddle with several clues to help the child find the 'thing'. The riddle starts with a general clue that could be several things. Each time a new clue is read, items are eliminated until one thing remains. When the page is turned, the child can see if they figured out the 'I Spy' thing. If needed, there are reference sheets. The sheets contain numbers 0 to 10, common colors and common shapes. The "I spy with my little eye" game is loved and played by children around the world. It is a guessing game. The game can be played in a variety of ways, such as by indicating the color or the beginning letter of a word for the 'thing'.
