When Tad looks at others, he sees colors. These auras tell Tad whether a person is good or evil. At night, Tad dreams about the evil-doers, reliving their crimes in horrifyingly vivid detail. But Tad doesn't know if the evil acts he witnesses in his nightmares are happening now, are already over, or are going to occur in the future. He has no control over the horrifying visions. He has been told (by his parents) never to speak of his paranormal power. All Tad knows is that he wants to protect those he loves. And he wants the bad dreams to stop. At Tad's eighth birthday party (April 1, 1995) in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the clown his parents hire to entertain Tad's third-grade classmates is one of the bad people. Pogo, the Killer Clown (aka Michael Clay) is a serial killer. So begins 53 nights of terror as Tad relives Pogo's crime, awakens screaming, and recites the terrifying details to his disbelieving family. The situation becomes so dire that Tad is hospitalized in a private institution under the care of a psychiatrist---who also does not believe the small boy's stories of having paranormal power. And then the police arrest Pogo, the Killer Clown. Flash forward to the beginning of Tad's junior year in high school, 8 years later. Tad is 16 and recovered from the spring of his third-grade year. When Michael Clay was caught and imprisoned, the crime spree ended and so did Tad's bad dreams. Until now, in the year of our Lord 2003, when evil once again stalks the land.

And why does the Darjeeling only taste good in Auntie's galley? With the aid of a buxom detective Inspector, a seditionist British journalist, and a knife-happy helmswoman, can Albion get to his pa before their high-flying pirate life is transformed into a Future that Never Was? “Adventure is what I expected going into this book, and adventure is what I got. The atmosphere was entrancing, the airships were captivating, the action was spot on. I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for us next!” - Mystery Author, M. W. Griffith ★★★★★AUTHOR INTERVIEWQ: Tell us about you and your workA: Hi! This is usually a hard question for me. Am I a child of two worlds? Yes. Do I call both New York and Hong Kong home? Yes, and that has pushed me into writing anachronistic work like steampunk. Am I a food writer, a trained chef, and a motorbike enthusiast? All yes.But they say the acorn is pulled into being by the oak tree it is going to be, and I was always going to be a novelist first and foremost. I grew up reading Douglas Adams and Madeline L'engle and Roald Dahl, and they were my friends when I moved around too much to have any. My wife and I basically live in a library.Q: What books do you write?A: I'm working on a ray gun series at the moment where I crash noir, Gothic, and western against a scifi backdrop. I adore fantasy. Ultimately, I want to push out of genre completely and go into lit fiction, but that judgement is up to the reader to make. Steampunk will always have a sweet spot with me. THE LANDS BEYOND FUTURE THAT NEVER WASSPECTRE OF WARQ: Why should readers pick up your books?A: My wife and few fans say this better than I do. They tell me I don't write weak female characters, and that I offer a voice to the voiceless. They say the writing is like a fine merlot and that the balance of action to hilarity is refreshing. Personally, I think the reason to pick up my books is the same reason you would give for following a stranger into a bar. You might not like it, but at least you will never regret it.Be sure to scroll up and hit that BUY NOW button to jump into a world of adventure, steapunk, and of course, pirates!
