  • The Story of My Life:

    Helen Keller

Paperback (CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, Feb. 19, 2016)
“One can never consent to creep when one feels an impulse to soar.” --- Helen Keller, The Story of My Life The Story of My Life (biography) The Story of My Life, first published in 1903, is Helen Keller's autobiography detailing her early life, especially her experiences with Anne Sullivan. Portions of it were adapted by William Gibson for a 1957 Playhouse 90 production, a 1959 Broadway play, a 1962 Hollywood feature film, and the Indian film "Black", which was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali ft. Amitabh Bachchan instead of Anne Sullivan. The book is dedicated to inventor Alexander Graham Bell. The dedication reads, "To ALEXANDER GRAHAM BELL Who has taught the deaf to speak and enabled the listening ear to hear speech from the Atlantic to the Rockies, I dedicate this Story of My Life." Helen Keller (1888 - 1968) Helen Adams Keller (June 27, 1880 – June 1, 1968) was an American author, political activist, and lecturer. She was the first deafblind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree. The story of how Keller's teacher, Anne Sullivan, broke through the isolation imposed by a near complete lack of language, allowing the girl to blossom as she learned to communicate, has become widely known through the dramatic depictions of the play and film The Miracle Worker.

  • The story of my life

    John R. Phillips

Paperback (Leopold Classic Library, July 5, 2015)
About the Book Biographical books, or bios, are detailed descriptions of a person's life. A biography is more than simply the basic facts, like education, work, relationships, and death. It portrays a person's experience of major life events. A biography presents a subject's life story, emphasizing certain aspects of his or her life, and including intimate details of their experiences, which may include an analysis of their personality. Biographical works are generally non-fiction, but fictional works can also be used to portray a person's life. An in-depth form of biographical coverage is referred to as legacy writing. An authorized biography refers to a book written with the permission, cooperation, and at times, participation of the subject or the subject's heirs. An autobiography, on the other hand, is written by the person themselves, sometimes with the assistance of a collaborator or “ghostwriter”. About us Leopold Classic Library has the goal of making available to readers the classic books that have been out of print for decades. While these books may have occasional imperfections, we consider that only hand checking of every page ensures readable content without poor picture quality, blurred or missing text etc. That's why we: republish only hand checked books; that are high quality; enabling readers to see classic books in original formats; that are unlikely to have missing or blurred pages. You can search "Leopold Classic Library" in categories of your interest to find other books in our extensive collection. Happy reading!
  • The Story of My Life

    Helen Keller, Frances Cassidy

Audio CD (Tantor Audio, April 15, 2005)
"Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing" ~ Helen Keller Before she was two years old, a scarlet fever destroyed Helen Keller's sight and hearing. At seven, alone and withdrawn, she was rescued by Anne Sullivan, her teacher and friend. She learned to read (in several different languages) and speak so well that she graduated with honors in 1904 from Radcliffe, where she authored The Story of My Life. In addition to her remarkable accomplishment of overcoming such huge disabilities, her other achievements are impressive in their own right. She published 13 books and numerous articles; she devoted her life to social reform; and she campaigned in 35 countries touching the faces - and hearts - of kings, presidents and movie stars on behalf of the handicapped. Today the foundations she established continue to help the deaf and blind throughout the world. Enthusiastic and untiring, Helen Keller's life is deservedly inspirational and stands before all of us as an example of what we can accomplish, given fortitude and purpose. Most importantly, she demonstrates that the severely disabled have nothing to be ashamed of.
  • The Story of My Life

    Helen Keller

Paperback (Forgotten Books, June 29, 2012)
The task of writing an autobiography is a difficult one. When I try to classify my earliest impressions I find that fact and fancy look alike across the years that link the past with the present. The woman paints the childs experiences in her own fantasy. A few impressions stand out vividly from the first years of my life; but the shadows of the prisonhouse are on the rest. Besides, many of the joys and sorrows of childhood have lost their poignancy; and many incidents of vital importance in my early education have been forgotten in the excitement of great discoveries. In order, therefore, not to be tedious I shall try to present in a series of sketches only the episodes that seem to me to be the most interesting and important. I was bom on June 27, 1880, in Tuscumbia, a little town of northern A labama. The family on my fathers side is descended from Caspar Keller, a native of Switzerland, who settled in Maryland.(Typographical errors above are due to OCR software and don't occur in the book.)About the Publisher Forgotten Books is a publisher of historical writings, such as: Philosophy, Classics, Science, Religion, History, Folklore and Mythology.Forgotten Books' Classic Reprint Series utilizes the latest technology to regenerate facsimiles of historically important writings.
