Frank Baum Rinkitink in Oz: Wherein is Recorded the Perilous Quest of Prince Inga of Pingaree and King Rinkitink in the Magical Isles that Lie Beyond the Borderland of Oz. is the tenth book in the Land of Oz series written by L. Frank Baum. Published on June 20, 1916, with full-color and black-and-white illustrations by artist John R. Neill, it is significant that no one from Oz appears in the book until its climax; this is due to Baum's having originally written most of the book as an original fantasy novel over ten years earlier, in 1905. Most of the action takes place on three islands – Pingaree, Regos, and Coregos – and within the Nome King's caverns. Since the original ruler of the nomes, Roquat – who later renamed himself Ruggedo, was deposed in 1914's Tik-Tok of Oz, Baum had to cleverly rework the tale to accommodate his successor, the well-intentioned – but politically motivated – Kaliko. The book was dedicated to the author's newborn grandson Robert Alison Baum, the first child of the author's second son Robert Stanton Baum.

His timing, however, is poor for soon after his arrival the island is overrun by a marauding band of warriors who loot and pillage the entire island and carry all its inhabitants off to slavery on the twin islands of Regos and Coregos. Rinkitink, Bilbil, and the young Prince of Pingaree, Inga, escape capture and with the the help of three magic pearls they set out to rescue the Pingareeans and Inga's father and mother, King Kitticut and Queen Garee. After some successes and failures, they ultimately win the day and free all the slaves on the islands. But not before the wicked King Gos and Queen Cor escape with King Kitticut and Queen Garee as hostages. The action then shifts to the Nome King's Caverns. Inga and Rinkitink join forces with Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz to once more confront the Nomes in the dramatic conclusion to this tale of high adventure in the remoter regions of Oz.

    L. Frank Baum, Dainy d. Angeles

Paperback (Independently published, Feb. 19, 2019)
King Kitticut, who rules the island of Pingaree in the Nonestic Ocean, tells his son Prince Inga about the secret defenses of their country. Pingaree was once invaded by the armies of Regos and Coregos, two neighboring islands to the north. The invaders were defeated through the use of three Magic Pearls, gifts of the mermaids. The Blue Pearl gives superhuman strength; the Pink Pearl protects the bearer from all harm; and the White Pearl provides words of guidance that only the bearer can hear. Using these pearls, Kitticut's father and predecessor had led his people in an effective resistance against the invasion; the forces of Regos and Coregos were driven out, and drowned on their journey home.
