  • Hide and Seek with Daddy

    Terri Ward, Rita Kindt

Paperback (Strategic Book Publishing & Rights Agency, LLC, Oct. 26, 2011)
Hide and Seek With Daddy has to be the best game ever! This charming children's book brings us out in the woods beside seven-year-old Johnny and five-year-old Valerie as they play with their father. The kids hear a voice in the woods saying: "One, two, three, come and find me. I'm hiding behind you, out in the trees." Both children shout, "Daddy!" and run into the woods. Daddy shouts out another clue. "Four, five, six, I'm not in those sticks. I'll give you a clue, it goes like this; take three steps forward and one step back and look for something green and black." The children find a green and black turtle with a note taped to its back, saying, "You're getting warmer!" Daddy gives them more clues that take them further into the woods. What will Daddy say next? The final clue leads Johnny and Valerie back into the house, where Daddy is sitting in the kitchen with his arms stretched wide for a hug. He hands the kids their final note. Can you guess what it reads? "Twenty-one, twenty-two, twenty-three, I'm happy as can be, to have you as my children, I'm glad you found me." This is the third book in the Johnny and Valerie series written by Terri Ward. Her next in the series is Treasure Hunt on the Hill. She is an occupational therapist in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. "My goal is to help people feel joy, whether it's children being read to, adults reading to their children or parents being inspired to have fun with their children." • Hide and Seek

    David A. Carter

Hardcover (TATE PUBLISHING, March 15, 2012)
"A fish and a teardrop. Five black spots, four blossoms blue, and a T that is white. A heart and an arabesque. A smile, a black Q, and a reflection of you." These are just some of the hundreds of objects readers are invited to find in David Carter's latest art pop-up book, "Hide and Seek". His previous art pop-up titles, "One Red Dot", "600 Black Spots", and other bestsellers, have sold hundreds of thousands of copies around the world, asking readers to find a single image hidden within ten pop-up kinetic sculptures. With "Hide and Seek", he has expanded the concept and now includes hundreds of images or words hidden within the pop-up landscapes, inviting readers to explore and discover something new with each visit.
