Her father gave the pig to his daughter to care for it.When Winter comes, Charlotte, the spider, dies, but before she dies she gives birth to 514 children, baby spiders.As you will see from the cover, the pig has a worried look on her face. This is because the pig, Wilbur, is in danger to be slaughtered.What saves Wilbur is Charlotte is very intelligent for a mere spider. Charles weaves a spider's web, showing words the farmer can read.
