This is a children's book written for the children of Richard Holloway Jr. It is meant to honor his memory and pass on stories of his action and bravery during his time spent in the Connecticut Army National Guard. It is meant to pass on his legacy, told from a teammate who stood with him through thick and thin, rain or shine, life or death. It is meant to have his back even after he is gone.

This book is a retelling of the classic tale The Little Red Hen using a Russian tale and Magpie as the lead character. She willingly makes the bread and her "friends" refuse to help. However, when it is time to eat, she denies her friends the bread. Young readers will delight reading the predictable text supported by colorful detailed illustrations. This book would be a wonderful addition to a school or home library.
