Exploring objects which are familiar to children - in this case, training shoes - this series supports curriculum work in both science and design & technology. It describes the materials from which the objects are made and how they have been constructed. Each book begins by illustrating all the pieces which make up the product, and encourages readers to consider properties such as size, shape, flexibility, and what the pieces are made from. It then goes on to look at each piece in turn and what its function is, and the final spread shows the completely assembled object and how it is used.
