April was inspired to write this book after surviving a series of strokes. When first returning home from the rehabilitation hospital, her daughter was having an extremely difficult time adjusting to her "new" mommy. April then went on-line, and to her local library, in order to obtain literature to help her daughter, and herself,to better understand, and cope with, their new life. However, the only materials she was able to locate were written about elderly stroke survivors. April soon realized the need for literature pertaining to younger stroke survivors, specifically, those having young children. Paperback (Steam World Press, Jan. 29, 2015)

Will Steemjammer has just escaped from the dungeon of his family’s arch-nemeses, the Rasmussens, but now the conflict’s only getting started. He’s learned that the Rasmussens are closing in on a dangerous piece of technology. Unless he beats them to it, they will gain the power to take over Beverkenverlt – the steam-powered world that he comes from. His family is overjoyed at his miraculous return, but he worries that he’ll have to pay a steep price for the lies he told to survive. Steemjammers don’t tell falsehoods and believe that their ability to see deeper truth depends on being as honest as possible. He fears his innate talents may be at risk, and he has no idea what he can do to save them. With a fleet of fast airships, deadly steam-powered robots, and a virtual army of secret agents in and around New Amsterdam, the Rasmussens seem to have the upper hand. Will suspects there’s more to the concept of deeper truth, and unless he can unravel its mystery, all is lost. This is book 2 of the Steemjammer series
  • The Trouble With Emily Dickinson

Paperback (Alpha World Press, Oct. 3, 2008)
The Trouble with Emily Dickinson - by Lyndsey D'Arcangelo Josephine Jenkins, better known as JJ, is in her senior year at Sampson Academy. She's a closet poet, a talented writer suffering from stage fright, and she's committed the ultimately lesbian faux pas - she's fallen in love with a straight girl. Kendal McCarthy is the ultimate prize. She's the school beauty and a popular homecoming queen. Though she may seem to have it all, she's tired of being known as the pretty girl with no brains. When she and JJ inadvertently cross paths, their lives suddenly become a bit more interesting in ways that neither of them ever imagined. Filled with unique and witty banter courtesy of Queenie McBride, JJ's over-privileged confidant, this tale of innocent young love exposes the reality of what can happen when two polar opposites collide in the most unexpected way through the poetry of Emily Dickinson.
